Note:

The people of South India share a profound emotional tie with the River Cauvery. But the sacred river has a hidden side. It flows through some of the most incredible and spectacular wildlife habitats and is one of the most challenging places for wildlife to survive. Survival depends on who can access water, and who can’t. The Cauvery is a saviour, but the journey to it is fraught with perils.

This film is set against the extraordinary transformation of this land, where the lush green forests shrivel into a barren landscape with the onset of summer. The next few months bring out the unseen genius of the animals as they cleverly find ways to survive the intense heat and dryness. This film captures behaviour, some of which has never been seen or captured on film. It is a celebration of one of the greatest rivers, the landscape and the wildlife of the region.

This non-commercial film is a joint exercise of the Karnataka Forest Department and civil societies.
